The Zoning Board of Adjustments consists of five members, appointed by the Mayor and Council and serve for three year terms after their initial staggered appointments. There are also two Super Numerary appointments who attend meetings when one of the regular members can not attend. The Zoning Board of Adjustments meets as needed when they receive a request to hear an appeal where it is alleged there is error in any order, requirement, decision or determination is made in the enforcement of Abbeville’s Zoning laws. They also hear and decide any special exceptions of the terms of the ordinance.
