Public Housing was established to provide decent and safe rental housing for eligible low-income families, the elderly, and persons with disabilities. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) administers Federal aid to local housing agencies (Has) that manage the housing for low-income residents at rents they can afford.
The Housing Authority of the City of Abbeville currently manages a total of (40) one, two, and three bedroom duplex apartments located on two sites. Applications for housing can be obtained from the Administrative Office at 194 Ash Drive, Abbeville, Alabama, 36310. The Abbeville Housing Authority meets the second Tuesday of every month at 9:30 a.m. in the Administrative office of the Housing Authority located at 194 Ash Drive, Abbeville, Alabama. Lisa Dunn is the Administrator.
