Yatta Abba Day Sock Hop!

Get out your poodle skirts and penny loafers and get ready to dance! Yatta Abba will host a sock hop at the community center on Friday, April 20th. There will be no charge for the dance and we will have a live band to entertain us along with light refreshments.

Watch for more details. Start planning your ward robe now – we hope you will join in the fun of the occaision and dress up but it’s not required.

Hurry – Get registered now at City Hall!

The Abbeville American Cancer Society Relay for Life team is sponsoring the Abbeville’s Got Talent Contest on Friday, March 9th beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Abbeville Community Center located at 103 Armory Drive in Abbeville.

Anyone interested in being in the competition may call 334.585.6444 for an application or stop by City Hall at 101 E. Washington Street, Abbeville.

There will be two age groups for competitors: Youth – 16 and under and Adults – Over 16. If you dance, sing, juggle, are a comic, a magician, or any other clean, wholesome entertainment, come join in on the competition. Entry fee is only $10.00 per act. Prizes will be awarded.

Donations for gate entrance is $2.00 for adults and a $1.00 donation for children 12 and under.

All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society Henry County Relay for Life.

Abbeville Recreation Baseball and Softball Registration

Danny Creel, Recreation Director announced the Abbeville Recreation Baseball and Softball registration will begin on February 1st and run through February 29th. Registration fees are $40.00 per child for the first two in a family and $20.00 for each child from the third one and beyond. Registration forms are available at the City Website under the documents tab or at City Hall.

Applications must be returned no later than February 29th. Applications received until March 11th will be charged a $5.00 late fee – no exceptions.

This years’ basketball season has been a tremendous success. Thanks to everyone who has participated and/or attended the games. Continue to support the Recreation program through attendance, concession and donations to the Abbeville Recreation Board. The Recreation Board will also be seeking team sponsors for the baseball and softball season.
